Race for Refugees

For more than 100 years, the International Institute has welcomed immigrants and refugees from around the world to our city. The Race for Refugees began in 2017 by community member Heather Heuwe in response to the initial federal travel ban on 7- Muslim-majority nations. The Race for Refugees brings people together to celebrate multiculturalism in our region and raise funds that help support first-touch services for refugees and immigrants.

During registration, participants have the option to choose between a R4R7 t-shirt, or upgrade to a R4R hooded sweatshirt for an additional $15! *Hoodies are only available while supplies last. **Shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed if ordered after March 31** **Shirts guaranteed for the first 250 registrants**

Online registration closes at 11:59pm on April 18th, and in-person registration is available at packet pickup and on race morning.

Since 2017, R4R has built a vibrant native and foreign-born community who advocate for, stand in solidarity with, and support refugees and immigrants. Since our inaugural event we have raised over $34,000 for our local refugee and immigrant community via the International Institute of St. Louis. Join our family-friendly event (bring those dogs & strollers!) and help create a more welcoming community for ALL!
